Nelo goes back to School- My #DigifyBytesNG Experience

Hello Guys, I'm back to blogging some more, after a life-imposed break. There's a lot to tell you guys. I've been working on getting my blog to look great.  What do you think? You like? It's still a work in progress, but i won't give up, mbanu!

So I went back to school, well, sort of. I've been doing plenty online reading (like, when am i not ever looking up something online? Lol) I really needed to brush up on my digital marketing knowledge, if i am to do excellently well at this. I had read in the newspaper and seen online, that Google was sponsoring courses to Digify, Africa. This is in partnership with Livity Africa, a group of young trainers. The course is called 'Digify Bytes' and is available in Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa.

I had seen on instagram, some pictures from the event, but it was usually sponsored by other start-up companies. I sent out a mail to register, but the dates were just never convenient as they are typically 2 days courses and i was told i had to attend both days. But, mehn, my leave days are like gold, so i use them only on special occasions. My next move: see if i could find a one day class that would hold on saturday. Did I find one? YES. But this life ehn, the friday night before the class, my daughter had a domestic accident, rushed her off to the hospital, got her wound dressed and no training for me. I had to send a mail to the organiser explaining my absence. Even if i attended, i would not have been focused.

But Nelo rarely gives up o! I got to attend the next class on Saturday, 7th May at Mulliner Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos.

It was an amazing class i tell you. Most amazing was how much things have changed since i completed my Certification in Digital marketing from The IDM. It was an abridged course but it shed light on some questions i have been asking myself. One example, how to use SEO to drive traffic to a blog or website, page ranking on search engines, content marketing, etc.

I got to meet new people too. I got to meet in person, a blogger cyber-friend, Muna of It's Munastic Blog.
