HOW I SPRING CLEAN MY NIGERIAN HOME

In case you are wondering if i have relocated because of my post title, i still live in Lagos, Nigeria. Spring cleaning refers to the process of cleaning your house thoroughly. Personally, i think a home needs a spring clean, at least once a year. I spring clean as often as i can. So what do i do when i am spring cleaning my home? Keep Reading....
1. WASH MY CURTAINS
I have many windows in my living room and as such many curtains. This is usually a starting point for me during a spring cleaning. I take down all my curtains and wash them. You can either hand wash them or using a washing machine. I hand wash my inner blinds every other month, they are cream and light. For my curtains, i take them to the laundro-mart. i wash them at twice once a year. It is important to give them a wash after harmattan, because of all the dust.

2. CLEAN ALL COBWEBS
Get a cobweb brush and clean all the cobwebs clinging on the walls and corners of the house. Cleaning cobwebs should be a weekly or bi-weekly chore.

3. CLEAN WINDOWS AND WINDOW SILLS
Spring cleaning is a good time to clean your windows from the inside and on the outside. Dust your window sills as they get visited by birds and rodents. If you have mosquito nets on your windows, give it a good dust too.

4. DE-CLUTTER YOUR CLOSET
Your closet needs a lot of attention during a spring clean. Any clothes you have not used in 2 years, you really do not need. This includes: shoes and bags. I donate mine to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, in my local parish every year. They become a treasure to someone in need and free up space for new clothes.

5. CLEAN YOUR KITCHEN
Clean out your kitchen cabinets and check for expired food and spices that need to be thrown out. I usually find a good number of these. Clean out your fridge. You may defrost a night before the clean. Clean your oven and washing machine.
